2013-2014 |
FTC Block Party! & FRC Aerial Assist.
|
Team Captains: Thomas Brown & Minhaz Rashid
Both went on after graduation to study Mechanical Engineering at Missouri University of Science & Technology.
For the 2013- 2014 Season, teams were pitted in FTC Block Party! and FRC Aerial Assist. The FTC game consisted of scoring small blocks into crates, while the FRC game consisted of a teamwork oriented game in which the alliances work together to move a large ball into a goal. Team 2408 was eliminated for both competitions for the season.
This year marked another turning point for the team, as their coach of 5 years retired, giving team 2408 a new coach, Dustin Stockmann, for the season. With little coach experience, the students were forced to take more administrative initiative, to keep the team together.
The team was also visited by the Mayor of Florissant, Thomas Schneider. During his visit, 2408 walked Schneider through FIRST's ideals and visions.
During this year’s FRC season, team was awarded the Gracious Professionalism Award for the second time, and had the honor of working with Tom Wendel, who won the Woodie Flowers Award that year. The award is given to mentors that lead, inspire, and empower their teams, through guidance and communication.
At the end of the season, 2408 managed to find some success, despite its hardships. The team continued to work harder, for more success in the coming years.
