2008-2009 |
FTC Face Off! & FRC Lunacy.
|
Team Captain: Alison Vigland
Went on after graduation to study engineering at Bradley University and University of Texas at Arlington.
The 2008-2009 Season's games were FTC's Face off, and FRC's Lunacy. Face Off's objective was to score pucks into a goal, and Lunacy, space-themed due to it being the anniversary of the American Lunar Landing, involved herding "moon rocks" into hoppers and carrying them across the playing field. 2408 was eliminated in both competitions this season.
This season was the first year under the team's current name, they were now the Shrapnel Sergeants; The team was also now coached by Physics teacher Cory Cook. With FIRST's abolishing of the annual team number renewal system for FTC, 2408 became the team's respective FTC number, replacing 121 forever--this is notably unique in that the Shrapnel Sergeants bear the same team number for both FTC and FRC! The Shrapnel Sergeants bore more character--now with their own team colors, logo, and T-Shirts. Black and red, baby!
The season brought in no awards or recognition for the Shrapnel Sergeants, but they continued to learn from experience and pushed forward.
